Federal Way United Soccer Club would like to invite teams to this year's Blast Off Soccer Tournament. Several Federal Way venues will be used with Celebration Park being the tournament headquarters. Provided we have adequate competition, all skill level of teams will be accepted this year.
We have revised our rules. Player cards are no longer required. Only one (1) copy of an ASSOCIATION signed roster.
US Club Soccer Teams: You are allowed to enter the Blast Off Tournament but we require proof that all of your players are the correct age and are covered by insurance. If you go to the US Club Soccer website under Tournament Team Insurance you will see the following note: If you need a letter to take to a USYS sanctioned tournament confirming you are a member and have insurance coverage, download a copy of form #C011.
The U10's and PDL Junior teams will play 6 a-side in a Jamboree format per WYS rules (no scores, standings or finals) with a maximum roster size of 10. These teams will be guaranteed 4 games in lieu of finals and every player will receive a medal.
The U11’s will play 9 a side with a maximum roster size of 14. U12 and above will play standard 11 a side. We have field space for 24 U11 teams and 60 U12-U18 teams per weekend. Teams will be in brackets of four (or as close as possible) with other teams of similar skill level. There will be no semi finals between brackets. The top two teams in each bracket will play each other in a final game on Sunday. Coaches trophies and player medals will be awarded to the First and Second place team in each bracket. Games will begin mid-day Friday.
Upon acceptance, you will be notified electronically. Schedules will be mailed approximately 10 days prior to the tournament. An Association signed roster and picture player cards for all players and coaching staff are required at check-in.
This year the t-shirt vendor will not be puting team rosters on the back of the t-shirts, only the team or player's name.
Send your completed application form and a check or money order made payable to FWU to the address shown below. Applications without payment will not be considered. For any questions, please contact the Tournament Directors, Sharon & Perry Woodford at pwoodford@jps.net or 253-941-0638.

Blast Off Volunteers
The Federal Way United Blast Off Tournament is the Club's major fund raiser. Each FWU team is required to participate as volunteers for this tournament, whether the team plays in the tournament or not. A team may pay the club $1000.00 instead of providing volunteers. This fee is due upon registration of the team. Any team that does not fulfill the total hours needed for the task will be billed at a prorated rate for the unsupported hours.
E-mail your requests for job assignments to Sharon Woodford. You must include the following information:
1) 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice job assignments. Include dates, times & job.
2) Name of team, age group and gender.
3) Coach's name, phone number & e-mail address.
4) Alternate contact, phone number, & e-mail address.
Your requests will be considered on a first come first served basis. You will be notified of your job assignment by e-mail.
When you receive your job assignment, you will be requested to e-mail the appropriate Blast Off Manager listed below a complete list of the volunteers names and phone numbers who will be working during your assigned time, prior to working at the Blast Off Tournament.
